Tuesday, January 21, 2014 B- Day

Focus: Writing Research Reports
Team Teaching with Mr. Barkley
Monday Morning Meeting Changed to Tuesday Morning

Objectives for the Lesson: As a result of today's lesson students will...
1.) Work in cooperative groups to write a research report that demonstrates background knowledge of their topic that they have selected.
2.) Use research notes to produce a written report .
3.) Cite evidence from research notes in reports.

Lesson Overview: The previous week the students researched from three different research sources.  Students organized their research and have been preparing to write their research reports. Students will learn how to take their notes and write their research reports.Each group of students will produce written report which demonstrates their knowledge of their topic, cites evidence, and communicates knowledge of content.

Evidence of Learning: Students will produce a rough draft as group.

Thursday, January 23, 2014  D - Day

Objectives for the Lesson:  As a result of the lesson students will...
1.) Work in collaborative groups to edit and revise their rough drafts of the research reports. Revisions will check spelling, grammar, citations, and answer the questions: Does this research help me with my experiment.
2.) Students will word process their final copy of their research paper.

Lesson Overview: Students will be combined with their group members to continue working on their research paper. Students completed their rough draft yesterday and are now on  the revision section of their paper.  By the end of today students will work together and present a final typed copy of their research paper.

Evidence of Learning; Students produce a final copy of their research paper that offers evidence that they have background knowledge of their topic.


Friday, January 24, 2014 E- Day
Objectives for the Lesson : As as result of the lesson students will..
1.) Work in collaborative groups to produce a final copy if their research paper.
2.) Use the website www.knightcite.com to cite all of the sources that they used during their research period.

Evidence of Learning: Students will cite their sources using the knightcite web tool to cite their work using MLA format.
