Greek Fest Shutdown- During this time the students will be breaking up into departments to work on researching and preparing presentation about Ancient Greece. Students will be working diligently to create a presentation that answers the following driving questions.

Driving Question:

How do we as students educate the surrounding community about ancient greek history and contributions to modern day society?

Wednesday, October 12, 2014 D- Day

Greek Fest - Science, Medical and Engineering Contributions to Modern Society.-  Students will work on their self selected topics.


Objectives for the Day-
Students will work in cooperative groups to complete their project boards.
Students will participate in a gallery walk in the classroom.
Students will evaluate their work and identify strengths and needs to improvements.

Lesson Procedure:  Students will display their project boards around the classroom. Teacher will model gallery walk. teacher will model how to write " I likes" about the project  and make suggestions for areas that need to be improved.  Teacher will reinforce that any suggestions need to be fact based and specific to the project. Suggestions need to be detailed.  Students will evaluate their strengths. Students will then evaluate their weaknesses and come up with a plan of action to improve their work.

Evidence of Learning: Students will make up a list of improvements to be made.

Thursday, October 13, 2014 E- Day

Objectives : Students will.....

Work on improving their presentation boards based on yesterday's gallery walk.

Lesson: Teacher will model how to make improvements to their boards in preparation for the Greek Fest.  Students will keep in mind the following questions:

Does my board have accurate historical information about my Greek Scientist?
Does my board accurately present my contribution?
Does my board clearly explain how my contribution has had an effect on modern day science, engineering, or medical contributions?

Students will work on their project with these questions in mind. Teacher will meet with the students and focus their presentations?
