Monday, May 11, 2015  B- Day 

Monday Morning Meeting Protocol:

Team building activity - Pass the hope without breaking hands.

Guest Speaker- Mr. Anderson from NERIC - share job description, duties, education requirements and a demonstration of knowledge of computer technology.

Brainstorming Session- What skills do we need to conduct a successful interview. 


LESSON FOCUS:  Job interviews


Objectives- As a result of the lesson students will....

1.) Demonstrate interview skills in a mock job interview 
2.) Present their resume and give examples of qualifications make them good candidates for departments.

Lesson Overview: 

Students completed their resumes from the previous day. They will signup for an interview time with their desired department. Students will interview with teachers and demonstrate their knowledge about departments and present their qualifications. 

Evidence of Learning -  Students complete job interviews.

Open Pit Mining

Why do we dig minerals out of the ground?

What is open pit mining? Describe the process.











From Fire to Land

What is a hot spot?

What is a plate?

Why did the hot spot under the pacific plate for a chain of islands instead of just one?



Evidence of Learning:
Students will complete three articles and answer questions.

Driving Question: How do we as programmers write, tests, change and finalize our code, so that our robot can perform its task for our presentation?

Established Rules and Expectations for programming department.
