Monday, February 24,2014 F Day
Monday Morning Meeting Protocol.
Students will participate in Monday Morning Meeting. Students will reflect on the Science Fair that took place on February 13, 2014. Students praised the winning teams. Discussed the process of working up to the Science Fair. Evaluated their performance during the science fair. Students listened to the morning buzz presentation; Presentation includes, local news, world news, weather, birthdays, week in review and events to come up. Discussed up coming STEM elections of new officers. Students were given the opportunity to work in their socials studies travel brochure which is dues on Tuesday. Travel brochure educates the reader about ancient Mesopotamia.

The Earth's Changing Surfaces Pages 6-7
Objectives for the lesson.
1.) Students will learn about context clues in nonfiction texts
2.) Use what they learned about context clues to define topography, relief and elevation.
Lesson Overview: Students will learn about using context clues in chapter one. Students well learn how to identify and use context clues to define terms in a nonfiction text. Students worked in groups to define topography, elevation and relief.
Evidence of Learning: Students will define topography, elevation, and relief using context clues.
Homework: Page 10 questions 1a, 1b
Wednesday, February 26, 2014 B- Day
Objectives for the lesson....
1.Students will demonstrate their understanding of the three terms topography, elevation, and relief.
2.Learn compare and contrast strategy.
3. Compare and contrast mountains, plateaus, and plains.
Lesson Overview: Students will learn how to compare and contrast two different things. Students will study a video of dance styles and communicate the similarities and differences. Students will then work in groups to compare and contrast mountains, plateaus, and plains using their text. Students will describe and define each land form and compare and contrast each land form.
Evidence of Learning- Students will compare and contrast the three different land forms: Plateau, plains, mountains.
Homework- Concept Map, Page 10 questions 2a and 2c.
Thursday, February 27, 2014 C- Day
Objectives for the Lesson: Students will...
1.) Distinguish the differences between a globe and a map.
2.) Compare both the globe and maps .
Lesson Overview: Students will define and describe map and globe. Students will learn that a map is a flat model of the earth that can be viewed form a distance above the earth's surface. Students will learn that a globe is a physical model of the earth viewed from space. Students will look at models of maps and globes to compare and contrast each model.
Evidence of Learning:Students will complete quiz. Take notes and work in groups.
Friday, February 28, 2014 D- Day
Objectives: Students will...
1.) Review prime meridian and equator bu creating a model with and orange.
2.) Learn and identify lines of latitude and longitude.
3.) Identify points using lines of latitude and longitude on a map on page 17.
Lesson Overview: Students will open the lesson by drawing the prime meridian and the equator on the orange. Students will identify the northern hemisphere and the southern hemisphere created by the equator. Students will then identify the eastern and western hemisphere created by the prime meridian. Students will then learn how to identify the lines of latitude and longitude on a map. Students will then use coordinates to identity points on a map.
Evidence of learn: Creation of the orange models, identifying coordinates and points on a map.
