SHUTDOWN TIME- PREPARATION FOR THE GREEK FESTIVAL ON NOVEMBER 19, 2014 4-6 IN THE MIDDLE SCHOOL GYM.
DRIVING QUESTION: HOW DO WE AS STUDENTS EDUCATE THE COMMUNITY ABOUT AND ANCIENT GREEK CULTURE AND THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS TO MODERN SOCIETY?
MONDAY, NOVEMBER 17, 2014 A- DAY
OBJECTIVES: AS A RESULT OF THE LESSON STUDENTS WILL....
WORK ON COLLABORATIVE GROUPS TO FINALIZE THEIR PRESENTATION BOARDS.
MAKE SURE ALL BOARDS HAVE THE HISTORICAL BACKGROUND, THE CONTRIBUTION TO MODERN SOCIETY, AND HOW THAT CONTRIBUTION HAS CHANGED THE WORLD.
Lesson: Students will work on presentation boards evaluating their I wonder comments from the previous week. Students will rework their boards. Students will discuss what needs to be imporved and what needs to be changed about their presentation boards.
Tuesday, November 18,2014 B -Day
Objectives: Students will....
Prepare presentations for the Greek Fest in the Middle School Gymnasium
1.Work in collaborative groups to write their scripts for their presentations.
2.Notate their index cards from the information on their presentation boards.
Learning Goal : Students will evaluate their work and write their cue cards to help with their presentations. Students will work on their presentation by presenting to another groups. Groups will give strengths and weaknesses. Students will then make improvements based on their work.
Presentations Requirements:
1.Introduction- Introduce yourself and your topic. Make sure you shake hands and make eye contact and speak in a loud audible voice.
2.Explain what you will be teaching them. Historical Background, Contribution to Modern Society and how this contribution is used today.
3. Present with an audible voice, eye contact, demonstrate confidence and knowledge.
Wednesday, November 19, 2014 C- Day
GREEK FEST FINAL PREPARATION-
Objectives: Students will....
Work in cooperative groups to prepare their for their final presentation.
Practice their presentations in small groups
Present their work to a large audience .
Lesson for the Day: Students will put finishing touches on their final presentation. Students will present their presentations to another group in the classroom. Students will evaluate each others presentations offering feedback about strengths and weaknesses. Students will then practice and work on their weaknesses and present to another group of students. Students will evaluate their work and offer feedback. Students will then work to improve final presentation and present to the entire class of students. After final presentation students will move their materials to the gymnasium and set up their location and practice presenting in the space.

HALF DAY - Parent teacher conferences 12:15-3:15- 4-6pm
Objectives for the Day :
Students will....
Clean up their presentation area in the middle school.
Reflect on the strengths and weaknesses of their presentations.
Lesson Overview- After cleaning up from the Greek Fest students took a moment to reflect on the Greek Fest. Students wrote about the strengths and weaknesses of the Greek Fest. Students discussed. what their strengths were and what skills they gained from doing the Greek Fest.

Olweus Survey- Students will complete the forty Olweus questionnaire that focuses on identifying hot spots for bullying g in the school. teacher will read each question aloud as the student anwer each questions.
