Variables, Purpose, Hypothesis-
Hypothesis Overview :
Hypothesis Overview:
Objectives for the Lesson- As a result of the lesson students will...
Work in collaborative groups to write the purpose of their experiment.
Distinguish between independent, dependent, and controlled variables
Write independent, dependent, and controlled variables for individual experiments.
Lesson Overview- Science Buddies Variables
Students will learn:
Independent Variables- what changes in the experiment.
Dependent Variable- What is measured or observed
Controlled- What remains the same
Model:
Independent Variable - The independent variable in our experiment is drinking and 8oz glass of water before bed.
Dependent Variable- The dependent variable in our experiment is counting the number of times a person wakes up a night.
Controlled Variable- The controlled variable will be the amount of water being consumed a night.
Evidence of Learning- Students will write, edit and type purpose, variables and hypothesis for experiments.
Wednesday, February 4, 2015 - F- Day
Objectives : As result of the lesson students will...
Work in cooperative groups to complete hypothesis for experiment.
Write hypothesis as an If, then statement.
Learning Overview: Students will discuss with the students the importance of a hypothesis in an experiment. Students will write the hypothesis as an if then statement.
Example: If a person drinks an 8oz glass of water before bed, then they will not wake up as much as a person who does not consume water.
Evidence of Learning: Students will write their hypothesis as an if , then statement.
