No School in Observance of Canadian Thanksgiving and Columbus Day
8:20-9:15
Students will make their way down to the LGI room and participate in Monday Morning Meeting. Students will listen and actively participate in the meeting. During the meeting students will do the following.
- Greeting - In preparing for the year the students have been working on professional greetings. student have been learning to introduce themselves by making eye contact, shaking hands in a professional manner, clearly saying their names and actively listening.
- Morning Buzz- Students will participate int he interactive news segment of the Monday Morning Meeting. During this time students will learn objectives for the week, review previously taught content, current events, weather and self- reflection.

Global Wind Belts Project
Focus: Students will take information from the text and create a book about the global wind belts.
Objectives: Students will...
1.) Define Local and Global Winds using context clues.
2.) Distinguish between global and local winds.
3.) Explain how scientist measure wind.
Evidence of Learning: Students will begin collecting information on global wind belts. Students will identify the global wind belts: doldrums, horse latitudes , trade winds, jet streams, prevailing westerlies and polareasterlies. Students will collect information about the types of winds that make up these belts, describe the belt and explain the direction it flows.
Wednesday , October 15, 2014- E- Day
Focus: Assessment of Terms: Conduction, Convection, Radiation, Thermal Energy, Temperature, heat and convection currents.
Objectives : Students will
Demonstrate Knowledge of Vocab and Content on assessment.
Work in cooperative groups to gather information about global wind belts.
Assignment: Students will create a book about the global wind belts. The project will include content about the global wind belts, the winds that make up these belts, facts about the wind belts, explanation of direction of wind flow.
Evidence of Learning: Complete assessment and gain information.
